Being located in Savannah, GA, approximately 20 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, Port City Design Group, LLC is highly experienced in high-wind engineering. Having designed structures in coastal regions from North Carolina to Florida and along the Gulf coast in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas, Port City Design Group can solve the complexities associated with “continuous load path” requirements of the International Building Code.
 
Seismic design is another area of expertise offered by Port City Design Group.  With maximum considered earthquake ground motions nearing 200% g (acceleration due to gravity) located in Charleston, SC, approximately 125 miles northeast of Savannah, our designs must also satisfy the ductility requirements mandated by state and national building codes.  Working with architectural firms throughout the southeast,  Port City Design Group provides straightforward solutions to complex problems.
 
Building Systems designs utilizing reinforced concrete masonry, structural steel framing, concrete framing, conventional wood framing, heavy timber framing, light-gauge metal framing or a combination of several systems and the costs associated with each are considered when meeting with the client to arrive at the most efficient structural system.  Types of projects include:

Technology Tools: Port City Design Group utilizes state-of-the-art computer software for analysis, design and drafting of our projects.  This software includes Autocad 2008, Revit Structure 8, Ram Structural System, Ram  Advance, Enercalc, BIM and Woodworks.
